This lamp was designed by Tommaso Cimini as the result of a research for a line that could express the pure rationality in the relationship between shape and function. Lumina began its production in 1975. Since then the increasing success of this model and the unanimous acknowledgment that received made this lamp into a unique example of function and elegance taking its place in the history of design. The original model for this line is Daphine, a table lamp of minimal size with two hinged arms using a shear force mechanism allowing its use in all rooms requiring an unobtrusive presence and the minimal intrusiveness associated to a consolidate and reassuring image. The Cloe version with a toroidal transformer concealed in its base represents an even more neutral visual alternative. The pressure plug can be used also in combination with a compact clamp to fix the lamp to all surfaces or to a wall mounted version. Additional custom made holders can be designed if required. The floor lamp version is an essential solution to solve individual lighting problems and for reading. The single arm table version, Daphinette, is particularly suitable for smaller areas which together with the 20 or 35 cm wall mounted and the new ceiling version, these complete a range with various applications suitable for the home, hotels, public areas, show-rooms, offices and so on.
